Is Blogging my new Passion?
Ummm! Probably not! That said, I surely hope that this is not a onetime burst of enthusiasm. I actually want to sustain blogging. You may be asking why this question suddenly came to my mind? Well, today I was having a discussion with a dear friend whom I would call NA for recognition purposes. NA was quite pleased with my blogging efforts though mind it he wasn’t pleased with the blog. It was the effort that he was commending. :)
Mr. NA happens to be a once-upon-a-time blogger with just one post to his credit. He is a one-post blogger and he wanted to warn me against being something like him. Well NA, you see, I am no longer a one-post blogger but at least a 2-post blogger :D
It was while I was discussing things with him that I realized that all things that I am passionate about have started because someone inspired me into them. The fuel might have been there but somebody acted as the ignition. I remember holding my friend’s DSLR for the first time. I watched him in awe as he used that awesome piece of engineering and convert very mundane shots into seemingly pieces of art. I remember saying to him- “I got to have one of these!” Rest is history. Same thing happened with blogging. My first post credits Ms. Virgin Margarita with the inspiration part.
My blogs may probably sound autobiographical right now but then I write random stuff. This is one of them. I was going through numerous other blogs today and man! People do write lots of sensible stuff! I am not capable of writing that kind of stuff, not right now. So till the time I get in the right frame, let my blogs sound autobiographical.
One of the random thoughts that came to me today was related to the revolution that blogging has been. Why do people love blogging? Why do people Tweet? Why FB? Ummm…let’s drop FB. It is on a completely different plane from blogging. I guess blogging gives you the freedom to express your deepest feelings without the fear of being identified? Also, traditionally, we have been used to listening to peoples’ views on the TV and absorbing the facts. We never actually got to discuss things apart from the coffee table groups. Now, with blogging, people from diverse backgrounds can actually come together and discuss ideas and share viewpoints. Blogging has become so important that now it has gone mainstream. Virgin Margarita may remember that I posted a quote from the blogs of a Harvard researcher. This is not his personal blog but his official one. So you see, how mainstream blogging has gone. You may follow him at:
This link was shared by one of my Profs. and has some good insights into the reasons behind the phenomenal popularity of social media sites. That said, I will pause my discussion on blogging. Let’s keep things light, at least for my first few posts. :)
Ohh btw! I mentioned that exams are weird times. Well, I derived a relationship between your productivity or lack of it and the days left to your exam.
Time spent at activities other than studies= e1/x
Where x=number of days remaining to the exams. You see, as x tends to zero, you spend an almost infinite amount of time doing random stuff, like blogging J Interesting formula! At least it is true in my case.
Just adding a video on attempts on suicide by our poor Larry. I liked it. Hope you guys enjoy it too.
Adios!

Can't contain the energy
Ohk...This is my first attempt at blogging. Technically, I shouldn't have started a sentence with "Ohk". But hey! Who gives a damn? This is my space, not the MySpace wala my space but my space. I am free to write whatever I want. As of now it seems pretty random stuff, right?
Let me elaborate on the reasons for this sudden burst in enthusiasm in me to finally start my blog. You see, I am a student in a B-School. And what do students do? They FB! Correct? However, what are students supposed to do in a B-School? Especially right before the exams? Study!! Correct!
Ohh! Btw people who do not know what a B-School is, Lemme explain. It is a place where you spend a fortune, a million INR to be specific in my case, to learn how to GAS around. This is our lingo and it means Global Stuff. You inculcate a very high capacity to skillfully throw Bull-Shit at people and get paid for that in return. Don't get worried. I was joking. Well a B-School means a Business School, where one is gets an MBA. And yes, the stuff about GASing around is true for many MBAs :D Btw people and future generations of B-School graduates may benefit from this BS generator-
My exams will kick off in a few days and I took the ultimate pledge that I will not FB till the exams are over. The first few days were OK as I am good at self-regulation. Yeah Yeah! I know. This is OB stuff! But then it is true. I am good at self regulation but only to an extent. Post that phase, I could not contain that energy any more. The only way out was by writing something…anything.
I had always been interested in blogging. One of my friends has been pursuing me for dunno how long to start a photography blog. Photography is a hobby which is kinda dormant right now. (Hope that my vacation gets it active.) Anyways, I could never muster the enthusiasm to start writing. Not until today. I picked up the pen, well to say sort of ;) , and started writing.
However, before you blog, you need a name. Now I am pretty dumb with creative names and this is where my dear friend, Virgin Margarita, came to my rescue. She suggested multiple names and finally I settled with this name, chiefly because I use a cropped frame DSLR. So there it is folks! Now you know the reason behind this blog name. Ohh! Btw you can follow her at this link:
Lately she has been very happy bcoz one Gautam Ghosh liked her tweet. Now Mr. Gautam Ghosh happens to be a big shot in the literary world. He is also an Alumni of our B-School. So she is elated. Guessing when my turn will come ;)
Ohk! Now the fizz seems to have died down. I should thank you guys for spending time reading all this random stuff which was coming to my mind. Exams are weird times. Gosh! I want them to end ASAP so that I am off to my lovely vacation :)
Adios!
P.S. – The guy in the image is not me. This is another random shot taken by me. I happened to be walking down my corridor one day when I spotted this fellow. If you view closely, he is busy with FB. Pretty much sums up a big chunk of the student life!
